Fair Copay Bill Heard in Senate Health & Human Services, Passes in the Senate
The bill was brought up in Rules Committee on Monday, March 9th, and was passed on the floor 52-0 by the Senate the following day. The measure now crosses over, and PTAG will be engaging members to make targeted outreach to the appropriate committee members electronically as needed. While this bill may face an uphill battle in the House, it wouldn’t have even gotten this far without the tenacity and preparedness of PTAGs members during advocacy day.
Compact Bill Sails Through Senate Committee
HB752 by Rep. Dave Belton (R-Buckhead), which allows the State of Georgia to implement the Physical Therapy Licensure Compact, passed the House on March 28, 2020, with a vote of 155-1 on the House floor.
The bill crossed over into the Senate and was taken up by Senator Bruce Thompson (R-White). As some of you may recall, Senator Thompson was the Senate sponsor of the initial compact bill, HB39 last session.
