APTA GA Application for Approval of Continuing Competency Hours (CCHs) Courses

Complete one copy of the application and return it via email (info@ptagonline.org) with all submission items, including the pre/post test.  Applications can take up to six weeks for approval from date received.

 


APTA GA Application for Approval of Georgia Ethics & Jurisprudence Course

As of June 1, 2020, approved APTA-Georgia Ethics and Jurisprudence Programs must be authored and/or presented by individuals with appropriate credentials and/or specialized training in the field. Examples of acceptable qualifications are listed under Submission Instructions on the application.

 


NOTES FOR ALL CCHs:

  • CEU Designation Change:   Going forward from this date CEUs will now be referred to as Continuing Competency Hours (CCHs) and will no longer institute the conversion from Contact Hours to CEUs: ( 1 Contact Hour =  .1 CEUs)
    From now on 1 Contact hour will = 1 Competency Hour or 1 CCHs
  • APTA Georgia approval of a course is for one calendar year and does not guarantee acceptance by the Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy for continuing education credits required for re-licensure. See Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy Rule 490-4-.02 and Policy #7 and 13.   CCH providers wanting to renew a course will be required to submit a new CCH application with the appropriate documents and required fee. APTA Georgia does not auto-renew courses with a letter of request. If you have any questions regarding this process, email the APTA Georgia Executive Office.

CCH Sign-in Rosters

Each participant must sign a roster at the beginning and end of a course.  Organizations are encouraged to keep a list of attendees to verify attendance in case of dispute or lost certificate by the attendee for up to five years post-event, in case an individual is audited or requires proof of attendance.

Effective 7/17/20, course providers are no longer required to submit rosters to the APTA Georgia office.

APTA Georiga provides a list of Approved Continuing Competency Courses.  If you see that your approved course is not listed, please email the APTA Georgia Executive Office.  All approved courses can be found on the Community Calendar.
