As the state professional association for physical therapist, PTAG supports all advancements of practice: advocacy, research and employment.

During the Legislative season, we advocate for changes that will benefit the bottom lines of your clinics and the quality of care of your patients. This is not possible without the support of the Georgia Physical Therapy Political Action Committee (GA PT PAC).

We provide funding for research and scholarships for future clinicians through our Research Workgroup and Georgia Foundation for Physical Therapy.

We encourage work/life balance and personal/professional growth to our members through our Employment Opportunities listings.

GA PT State Board Meeting Minutes

Animal Rehabilitation (last updated 29 March 2017)

Physical therapists and physical therapist assistants should be advised that the Georgia Physical Therapy Act does not appear to grant individuals licensed under that statute the authority to perform animal rehabilitation in the state of Georgia. The Board encourages physical therapists to review the Veterinary Practice Act, specifically O.C.G.A. § 43-50-3(11) for additional guidance

In the ever-changing environment that is the physical therapy profession, it is the clinician’s responsibility to stay abreast of any state and federal legislative and regulatory issues and be prepared to promote the profession.
